Anxiety Disorders Association of America: www.adaa.org
A national organization that aids consumers suffering from all types of anxiety disorders, including panic disorder, agoraphobia, social phobia, specific phobias, generalized anxiety disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder. Consumers as well as professionals attend their national conferences. They are a terrific source of information.

Obsessive Compulsive Foundation: www.ocfoundation.org
This national organization focuses specifically on OCD. They publish a quarterly newsletter, and also hold a national convention that is open to the general public as well as mental health professionals. They can help people find a good therapist who specializes in OCD, and their web site also lists local support groups.

Dr. Reid Wilson, a clinical psychologist in North Carolina, has assembled a web site www.anxieties.com, that describes a cognitive-behavioral approach to anxiety disorders that is compatible with Dr. Kupfer’s way or working with these problems. His web site also advertises weekend workshops for those with anxiety disorders. Dr. Wilson has written some of the best books on anxiety disorders, resources that can aid anyone trying to increase their understanding of anxiety and how to get over an anxiety disorder. These books include Don’t Panic and Stop Obsessing (the latter co-authored with psychologist Edna Foa Ph.D.)
